Biography of Phillip J. Thompson Phillip Thompson was born in Mobile Alabama in 1958. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington in 1982, 1987, and 1994 respectively. Dr. Thompson has worked at LTV Aerospace in Grand Prairie Texas since 1981, principally on CO2, GaAs, and MMW radar imagery. He has formulated algorithms for scene modelling and target detection, segmentation, and classification. He has also developed an occlusion-tolerant target acquisition system. His current technical interests include pattern recognition, image processing, signal processing, and neural networks.
