Mini Vasudevan received the Bachelor of Technology degree from Kerala University, India in 1987 and the M.S. and the Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1993 and 1998 respectively, all in Electrical Engineering. She worked as Project Engineer at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Bangalore, India from 1987 to 1991, involved in the design, testing and commissioning of thyristorized control systems for industrial power systems and high voltage equipment. During 1995-'96, she worked as an intern at Nortel, Richardson, Texas in the RF Engineering group, involved in the design, analysis and simulation of cellular systems. Since June 1998, she is employed with Nortel Networks in Richardson, Texas. Currently she leads the CDMA Access Network Interface standards team within Nortel and is responsible for setting the strategy and direction for Nortel Networks in the 3GPP2 and TR 45.4 subcommittee. She actively participates and contributes to the Radio Access Network (RAN) evolution and in the development of Inter-Operability Specifications (IOS) for the 3G CDMA Standards. She also manages activities, sets achievement goals and imparts training to various functional groups within Nortel. Her prior assignments include analysis of CDMA system performance issues and developing applications for the deployment of wireless networks. Her research interests are in the analysis, modeling and simulation of mobile radio systems.
