Dr. Stone H. received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tamkang University, Taiwan in 1982, and the M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1987 and 1994 respectively. He joined the Chinese Army Communication and Electronics School as a Communications Instructor in 1982. He was an Assistant Researcher at Industry Technology Research Institute, Taiwan from 1984-1986 and Electrical Staff Engineer at Motorola, Inc., Fort Worth, TX from 1988-1990. Since August 1990, he has been with Northern Telecom, Richardson, TX and is presently a Manager, Radio Systems Analysis Department. He has worked on several wireless communication development projects including AMPS, IS-54, CDPD and IS-95. He now leads a team to study ATM-wireless network architecture and performance for 3rd generation wireless networks. He also manages and coordinates the external research program on the system capacity and performance of wireless networks. He is the Chair of Telecommunications Group, Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE) for the years 1996-1998.
