Biography of Mu-Song Chen

Mu-Song Chen was born in Taipei Taiwan, Republic of China, on Oct. 5 1958. In 1982, he graduated from Chung Yuan University at Chang-Li Taiwan with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering. In 1988 he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with an MS in Electrical Engineering. From 1984 through 1987, he worked as a test engineer in the Technical Support Department at GTE in Taiwan. There, he installed and tested a prototype ISDN network, developed simulation software for locating failures in line cards, and conducted seminars on ISDN networks and computer networks. From 1989 to 1991, he was a graduate research assistant in the Image Processing and Neural Networks Laboratory in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. After graduating with the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1991, Dr. Chen joined the Department of Electrical Engineering at Dai-Yeh Institute of Technology in Chuang, Taiwan, where he currently holds the rank of Associate Professor. Dr. Chen's research interests include neural networks, fuzzy theory, and image processing. Dr. Chen is a member of the IEEE, Tau Beta Pi, and Phi Beta Delta.
