Biography of Hung-Chun Yau

Prof. Hung-Chun Yau was born in Kaoshiung Taiwan in 1957. In 1980, he graduated from Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan with a BS in material science. In 1987 he graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with an MS in electrical engineering. From 1986 through 1990, he was a research assistant in the Image Processing and Neural Networks Lab in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington, where he earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering in 1990. In 1991, Prof. Yau joined the Dept. of Information Engineering at Kaohsiung Polytechnic Institute, Taiwan as an Associate Professor and Acting Chairman. Prof. Yau is a member of the IEEE. His current technical interests are signal processing, pattern recognition, and neural networks.
