Hung-Han Chen was born in Taichung, Taiwan, R.O.C. in 1965.

Hung-Han Chen received the B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1988 from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, and the M.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1993 from West Coast University, L.A. In 1994, he joined the Neural Networks and Image Processing Lab in the Department of Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington as a graduate research assistant. There, he investigated fast algorithms for training feedforward neural networks and applied this research to power load forecasting. In 1997, he received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington. He then joined CYTEL Sytems, Inc., Hudson, Massachusetts, where he developed neural network based software for vehicle identification and other applications. Currently, Dr. Chen works at Medical Scientists, Inc. of  Boston, Massachusetts, where he is developing machine learning software for catastropic risk prediction and for other applications in the health care industry. His areas of interest include neural networks, digital communication, robotic control, and artificial intelligence.
