Biography of Kamyar Rohani
Kamyar Rohani received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical
engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 1982 and 1984
respectively. He received the Ph.D. in electrical engineering in
1991 from the University of Texas at Arlington. From 1984 to 1992,
he worked for Motorola Research Laboratories in Fort Worth Texas,
where he was engaged in the development of speech processing
algorithms and digital cellular systems including digital
modulation, channel coding, propagation models for the mobile
environment, and multiple access methods such as TDMA and CDMA. In
1992, he joined Nippondenso Technical Center in Carlsbad,
California, where he was involved in research and development
activities for Japan Digital Cellular (JDC) phones. In 1993, he
returned to Motorola Research Laboratories where he is currently
head of the Cellular Infrastructure Group. Dr. Rohani is a member
of the IEEE Communications and Signal Processing societies.
