David Blaine Ownby was born in the U.S. in 1961. He received the BSEE degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 and the MSEE degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1990. He worked in the Image Processing and Neural Networks Laboratory from 1988 to 1990. During this time, he developed a speech recognition system that employed neural network phoneme recognizers. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. Since 1990, he has worked as a product and test engineer for mixed signal ICs at Crystal Semiconductor. He is currently the manager of Product/Test for Industrial Data Aquisition Products. His technical interests include neural networks and audio and speech processing.
